Tunsbergdalsbreen 2009

In 2009 Brathay Exploration Group, working jointly with The Field Studies Council and Norwegian Glacier Museum and Ultveit-Moe Climate Centre, mounted a reconnaissance expedition of Tunsbergdalsbreen, the largest valley outlet glacier of the Jostedal icecap in southern Norway.

Picos de Europa 2009

The BEG expedition to the Picos de Europa in Northern Spain in July 2009 was curtailed due to the tragic death of one of the expedition members. The inquest was held in May 2010. The coroner returned a verdict of accidental death. BEG issued a short statement after the inquest which can be read here. It subsequently issued a more detailed statement describing actions it is taking on a whole range of issues raised by this accident and the subsequent investigations; this can be seen here.
