4 members of the Brathay Exploration Club attended the Royal Geographical Society Explore Conference in London.

This was an exciting conference focussing on expedition fieldwork and planning. We were inspired by many of the speakers but Ed Stafford 'Amazon man' deserves a particular mention as he talked about his 860 day expedition from the source to the mouth of the river Amazon. We also met with the RGS president Michael Palin.

Morgan Gibson who was a member on the 2010 Tunsbergdalsbreen expedition presented our findings with enthusiasm and committment to the conference. She will also be co-ordinating the 2011 expedition - watch this space to find out more.....
